Are you a pharmacist and want to improve your Norwegian? Then our Norwegian course “Professional Norwegian for Pharmacists” is perfect for you.
This course provides you with a minimum of 80 hours of Norwegian language training with a teacher. You also get access to an online resource tailored for pharmacists who are learning Norwegian.
The course runs over a semester with classes two evenings a week (from 5 pm to 7 pm or from 7 pm to 9 pm).
Course content
The goal of the course is for you to reach a B1 level in Norwegian. At the same time, we have a special focus on words, expressions and situations that you encounter in your job as a pharmacist.
The course consists of two parts:
- Meetings where you meet (physically or online) with the teacher and other participants. The meetings are two hours, twice a week from August to December.
- Online resource where you can work on your own. You will access it via aftenskolen.no. In this online resource you will watch videos and do assignments.
There are two different levels of the course. Professional Norwegian: Pharmacy 1 is Norwegian language training from A2 to B1, while Professional Norwegian: Pharmacy 2 is a more oral course focused on B1 to B2.

To participate in this course, you must complete a survey and take a language test that shows that you are at least A2 level.

You can register at any time by filling out the self-declaration. In addition, you must select a date at the bottom of this page. If this round is full, you may be able to join the next round of courses.
How much does the course cost?
The course is funded by IMDI through the Norwegian language training scheme. The course will therefore be free of charge for you.
Textbooks
Throughout the course you will have access to digital textbooks (Stein på stein). If you would like to have physical books, you can purchase them at most bookstores. You will then need Stein på stein (2021).
Collaboration with the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association
This course is created in collaboration with the Norwegian Association of Competence and the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association.
The Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association (Farmaceutene) is a professional association for pharmacists. The association is nationwide and organizes the largest proportion of pharmacists in Norway.
