Do you want to learn Norwegian? Are you looking for a Norwegian B1 course in Kristiansand or Stavanger?
Then our Norwegian B1 course could be perfect for you.
The course is full for spring 2025. The next opportunity will be August 2025.
Course in Norwegian B1 (intermediate level)
Norwegian 3 is a continuation of Norwegian 1 (A1) and Norwegian 2 (A2) in Aftenskolen, and is the first of two parts at level B1.
The course is perfect for those who already know some Norwegian and want to improve their Norwegian skills.
The course is mostly conducted in Norwegian, with English as a support language if necessary.
All teaching takes place in classrooms with dedicated and skilled teachers.
The goal of the Norwegian course
By the end of this course, the goal is for you to be able to understand, speak, read and write about topics from daily life, school and work.
You will learn to understand and use varied expressions and phrases in different situations. You will learn how to create sentences and ask questions with correct word order, as well as a good deal of grammar.
At the same time, you will learn to express your own, and others', opinions on different topics. You will learn to use polite expressions and expressions related to specific situations.
We want you to develop a good and basic vocabulary, while at the same time having a general knowledge of Norwegian society.
Free Norwegian course B1
This course qualifies for the Norwegian language training scheme (formerly the voucher scheme). This means that you can attend a free Norwegian course if you use your voucher to do so. You will then be able to attend both Norwegian 3 and Norwegian 4 (B1).
You can use a voucher card if you have a need to learn more Norwegian, and if you have used up your rights under the Introduction Act or the Integration Act, or if you are not entitled to free education elsewhere.
To use your voucher, sign up for the course (above). You must also complete this survey. You do not qualify for a free Norwegian course until you have completed the survey. We only have a limited number of voucher cards, so it is not certain that everyone who applies to use the voucher card will be granted it this semester.
Textbook
The textbook we use is Stein på stein (2021 edition). We work our way through chapters 1 to 8.
This is a textbook in Norwegian that is adapted for the curriculum in Norwegian and social studies for adult immigrants, and includes teaching at B1.
The price of the course does not include the books. You can buy them at Norli online Stein på stein textbook and Stein på stein workbook or at Berges Bokhandel in Kristiansand or Norli bookstore in Stavanger.
Approval and course certificate
Aftenskolen is approved by the Directorate for Higher Education and Competence. The evening school's Norwegian courses are valid for applications for permanent residence permits or Norwegian citizenship.
After completing the Norwegian course, you will receive a course certificate, provided that you have attended at least 75% of the course. If you have less participation, we can issue a course confirmation for the hours you have participated.
