Norwegian course A2 is designed for those of you who know a little Norwegian, but who want to improve your language skills.
We build on Norwegian 1 (A1) , and provide you with instruction that leads to an A2 level.
Learning objectives. What do you learn at Norwegian A2?
In this Norwegian course (Norwegian course A2), we follow the curriculum for adult immigrants and have designed the teaching to reach the competence goals for Norwegian A2.
At level A2 you can take part in simple conversations about common and practical activities that you are familiar with. You can read and understand short, simple texts related to your work. You can write short, simple messages and talk about experiences and events using simple phrases and sentences.
During the course you will learn some basic grammar, spelling and number words. In addition, you will be able to make simple sentences and ask questions with the correct sentence structure. We also try to give you some knowledge about Norwegian society. The goal is that you will have enough knowledge to pass a Norwegian test at A2 level.
The teaching will be in Norwegian and English.
In the course you will learn:
- to understand and use words, phrases and expressions so that they can make themselves understood in everyday situations.
- some basic grammar
- interrogative pronoun
- number words
- spelling – knew the Norwegian alphabet
- to create sentences and questions with correct word order
- to express yourself about currency, measures and weights
- to express your own opinions on various topics
- to have some knowledge about Norwegian society
Textbook for this course
With regard to textbooks in Kristiansand, we will provide information before the start of the course about which books will be used and must be purchased.
In Stavanger we use the textbook På vei Textbook and På vei Workbook . The teacher will go through chapters 9-16. These books are used in both the Norwegian A1 and Norwegian A2 courses. If you have already taken Norwegian A1 at Aftenskolen, you do not need to get a new book.

The course fee does not include the books.
Approval and course certificate
The evening school is approved by the Directorate of Higher Education and Skills and the Norwegian immigration authorities and is valid in relation to applications for a permanent residence permit or Norwegian citizenship.
After completing the Norwegian course, you will receive a course certificate as long as you have attended at least 75% of the course. If you have less participation, we can issue a course confirmation for the classes you have attended.
