Forms of work

At the Evening School, we use varied teaching methods to maximize goal achievement and to create variety, motivation and engaged participants. We place particular emphasis on oral communication in everyday situations. In particular, the exercises will be based on typical situations that you may encounter when traveling, such as ordering at a restaurant, buying goods, asking for directions, etc.

This is how teaching is organized:

  • Reading, practicing pronunciation/sounds
  • Blackboard teaching, basic language structure
  • Practical exercises, games, role play, etc.
  • Individual work e.g. homework

Textbooks

The choice of textbook in Kristiansand is agreed with the teacher at start-up.

In Stavanger we use the textbook "Contact" and the same book is also used on the advanced course French 2. The book can be purchased at Norli bookstore in Stavanger/Sandnes or online at Norli.no or at Adlibris.no.

The textbook must be purchased by the participant and is not included in the course fee.

Once you've reached language level A2, you can take an exam called DELF/DALF and obtain an internationally recognized language certificate. This is valid in 130 countries - it also gives you access to higher education in a French-speaking country, depending on your language level.

Such a test/exam can also help to increase motivation in language learning.
